The Board of Directors recognized Susan during its February meeting and celebrated her work related to technology, building improvements, staffing additions, personnel policies and more. Above, Susan is pictured with outgoing Board Chair Anne Martin and Board Member Wanda Musgrave.
During Susan’s final staff meeting the first week of March, the Foundation team offered tributes and laughed about favorite memories. Though we will miss our colleague, her spirit will live on – and we will think of her whenever we hear the coffee pot brewing!
Susan shared this message prior to her departure: “Serving on the Foundation team for almost eight years has been an incredible privilege. As many have heard me say, I am happy every morning when my feet hit the floor — not only because of the important work we do, but also the amazing people with whom I get to do it.
Having lived far from my family for almost 25 years, I am excited to be moving closer. But rest assured that I will watch and celebrate the Foundation’s ministry from afar. I may even show up for a surprise visit. To everyone at the Foundation and across our Conference, thank you for your partnership. I will always carry each of you, and this experience, in my heart.”
Board gives thanks for leadership, growth and fruitful ministry
There was a special tribute for outgoing board chair Anne Martin, whose steadying presence proved invaluable as the Foundation navigated post-pandemic recovery, disaffiliation and accompanying challenges.
