Study, podcast reveal new ways to think about stewardship

Stewardship shifts us from grasping to giving, from claiming to sharing. That transformation is at the heart of what it means to follow Jesus.

Every time you choose to be generous—whether with your time, your money, your gifts, your presence—you are reflecting the very image of the God who made you.

The 7 Principles of Stewardship explores how clergy and laity shape both the culture and practice of generosity in our churches. Author A.J. Thomas designed the study for small groups, Sunday School classes, and congregation-wide readings.

Think about how many of our conflicts, whether in families, neighborhoods, or nations, boil down to a disagreement over what’s mine and what’s yours?

Stewardship moves us from grasping…to giving, writes A.J., the Foundation’s Director of Client Relations. That transformation is at the heart of what it means to follow Jesus. Click on the link below to access a downloadable version of the study.

The Foundation’s Stewards & Stories podcast has launched a series to accompany The 7 Principles of Stewardship.

Revs. Annalee Allen and A.J. Thomas consider what it means to shift from a “mine” mindset to a stewardship mindset. Click below to listen.

Stewardship isn’t just about giving—it's about becoming.

In the Christian faith, one of the most powerful ways to break free from a life centered around mine is through the mindset and practice of stewardship.

Stewardship invites us to live with open hands rather than closed fists. It shifts us from grasping to giving, from claiming to sharing. And that shift, that transformation, is at the heart of what it means to follow Jesus.

Living generously is the path that pulls us out of ourselves. It disrupts our self-orientation and reorients us toward others. It creates room for joy, for connection, for growth.
